The Air France-KLM values for our stakeholders
As an international Group with operations all over the world
and employing a large number of staff, Air France-KLM
is committed to respecting both ethical values and
the relevant legislation in terms of regulatory compliance.
This includes, in particular, the respect of Human Rights, combating corruption and all forms of child and forced labor, and the fight against tax fraud and tax evasion. These fundamental principles are based on the international standards for businesses, including notably the United Nations Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the Core Conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the UNICEF Children’s Rights and Business Principles.
As a signatory of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact since 2003, the Group supports its ten principles and actively promotes them with partners and suppliers.
Air France-KLM Principles
In 2020, Air France-KLM developed its Social Rights and Ethics Charter which subsequently become an integral part of the Air France-KLM Principles. The Air France-KLM Principles reaffirm to all employees the Group’s commitment to fostering a climate of mutual trust, respect, transparency and confidentiality, and to promoting a working environment where health, safety and quality of life are a major priority on which there can be no compromise.
The Principles apply to all employees in the Air France-KLM Group, including those on part-time or temporary contracts. They serve as a shared foundation for all the companies within the Group and support new initiatives, procedures, rules, and Codes of Conduct. The Air France-KLM Principles apply to all the Group’s stakeholders, irrespective of their form.
The Group encourages all its customers, shareholders, business partners and local communities to respect them.
Respect of human rights
Human rights are the foundation for social, economic and cultural cohesion within each company and across the Group. Every employee of the Air France-KLM Group has the right to working conditions that respect their health, safety and dignity, and that guarantee a social dialogue. Within the framework of its activities, the Group has identified the risk factors relating to human rights. The measures put in place to mitigate these risks fall into a number of different areas:
✔health and safety of individuals;
✔equal opportunity;
✔achieving a better work/life balance;
✔data privacy procedures to protect the personal data of customers and employees.
In compliance with the UK Slavery Act, Air france-KLM has published a declaration on the Air France and KLM commercial websites.
In its relationships with suppliers, the Group is committed to ensuring that the fundamental principles and social rights are properly respected, everywhere in the world. Suppliers are invited to sign a Supplier Code of Conduct based on the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.
In our contracts we also reserve the right to evaluate their sustainability performance through the services of the company EcoVadis. This evaluation is vital, particularly for suppliers deemed to be the most “at risk”, to help us manage and verify the compliance of our suppliers.
